Abstract: This article examines the efforts undertaken to restructure the legal education system in Nigeria. It investigates the connection between contextual influences and professional development. particularly with respect to the concept Of legal information literacy and the value of acquired educational skills in the context Of legal practice in Nigeria Preliminary findings on the study provide an assessment of the efforts by the Nigerian Law School (NLS) in developing needed competency skills to meet the current challenges of legal practice in Nigeria. It also proffers recommendations on how the concept of information literacy can provide a suitable platform for developing a legal information literacy paradigm for legal education and practice in Nigeria.
